Thursday, 10/26/2017
1:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Graduate Center, Room C203
Ever thought of a better way of doing things? Ever had an idea that could make a splash? Ever wanted to start your own company? Entrepreneurship skills are useful not just for embarking on your own business venture. They’re increasingly useful across all kinds of workplaces, from academia to the tech industry.
CUNY Startups helps CUNY students learn entrepreneurship skills by building their own business projects using design thinking, lean startup, and agile development methods. At this event, CUNY Startups Executive Director Olga Bartnicki introduces GC students to what it takes to create your own business.
Olga is a seasoned entrepreneur and Harvard MBA who has launched and sold several startups. She now gives back to the NYC and CUNY community by running accelerator programs, workshops, and hackathons for an interdisciplinary group of graduate and undergraduate students from across CUNY campuses. From developing an idea and drafting a plan to acquiring key mindsets and skills, Olga will discuss the what, why, and how of launching a startup.
The event will be followed by an open Q&A with refreshments (coffee, cookies, etc.).
