A Conversation with Surekha Davies

Please join the GC Writing Center and the members of Public Writing for Academics for a conversation with Dr. Surekha Davies about her most recent book, Humans: A Monstrous History (University of California Press, 2025).

Dr. Davies will also discuss aspects of the writing life, including bringing scholarly
training to bear in trade non-fiction; the ins-and-outs of bringing a book into the
world; and the benefits of writing short-form pieces like essays and op-eds.

The event will follow a structured conversation format followed by an open Q&A.
It is open to all interested GC students and faculty.
