The CUNY Research Scholars Program (CRSP) invites CUNY Graduate students to serve as a judge at its summer symposium. This is a great opportunity to contribute to the development of associate degree students throughout the CUNY system and it is also a form of professional development for graduate students.
CRSP provides year-long mentored research experiences for 200 associate degree students in STEM and the social sciences at all seven of CUNY’s community colleges and three comprehensive schools. After working all year on their projects, the students will be presenting their work on July 25th, July 27th, and August 1st. To view the program’s webpage, please click here. The abstract book and schedule of events for last year’s symposium can be found at this link.
Your participation as a judge in July or August will provide an important service to students. We are looking for judges from all disciplinary backgrounds, as one of the main criteria for winning presentations is the effective communication of scientific and other research projects to non-specialists.
If you would like to volunteer to serve as a judge during one of the symposium afternoons (July 25th, July 27th, or August 1st) please fill out this brief form. You will receive instructions, a rubric, and the pre-recorded presentations on July 9th.
This event will be hosted virtually.
If you have any questions, please contact Ron Nerio, the program’s director: ron.nerio@cuny.edu.
