The Enclave Literary Series – Hispanic Writers in Their Own Words. A reading of fiction, poetry and theater by Frederick de Armas of University of Chicago and selected Hispanic writers, takes place at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 5, 2017 in the Graduate Center, Rooms 9207. This event is hosted by Professors Nora Glickman and Alejandro Varderi.

Out of Our Electoral Darkness: Introducing Lottocracy by Professor Alex Guerrero from Rutgers University.  Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 7:15pm in Graduate Center Room 9206. The event is cosponsored by the Gotham Philosophical Society and hosted by Professor Stefan Baumrin.

State Violence and Masculine Authority on India’s Northwest Frontier, a talk by Prof. Elizabeth Kolsky of Villanova University. Thursday May 11, 2017 in the Graduate Center’s Room C-205. Sponsored by the CUNY Academy’s Global Studies Group. This event is hosted by Professor Frank Jacob.

The CUNY Academy’s Conference on War and the Urban Context will take place in the Graduate Center’s 9th Floor Skylight Room on Friday May 19, 2017, from 9 AM to 6 PM. This event is hosted by Prof. Sarah Danielsson.

The Lane Cooper Dissertation Fellowship, awarded by the CUNY Academy for CUNY undergraduates, will be presented to Mason Barto of Brooklyn College during the Senior Symposium of the Classics Department at Brooklyn College.
